NOTES ON BLINDNESS

NOTES ON BLINDNESS, Amaury La Burthe, Arnaud Colinart, Peter Middleton, James Spinney

In 1983, John Hull, an English theologian and writer, became completely blind after decades of steady deterioration. To help him make sense of the upheaval in his life, he began documenting his experiences on audio cassettes over three years. These original diary recordings create the basis of this interactive non-fictional narrative which is a cognitive and emotional experience of blindness. Through a unique combination of narration, artistic direction, and graphic design, the project NOTES ON BLINDNESS creates an enveloping sensory journey, enhanced by spatialized sound, freedom of movement, and interactive exploration.
