SANCTUARY OF THE UNSEEN FOREST, Marshmallow Laser Feast
SANCTUARY OF THE UNSEEN FOREST is a large-scale video installation that creates a moment of awe, felt when we embrace the presence of a majestic being, a giant Ceiba pentandra from the Colombian Amazon. The artwork becomes a sanctuary, a place to reflect and contemplate our place within the wider systems of nature.

“In this and other works we have created, we are seeking to highlight our connection with the wider systems of nature through the experience of art. The oxygen trees exhale flows into our tree-like lungs, flowing from our heart centre outward, through fractal branching arteries to feed every cell in our body. Placing the audience in the centre of these nested ecosystems, we aim to bring them closer to an understanding of our interconnectedness.

About the artists
Marshmallow Laser Feast
Marshmallow Laser Feast (MLF) is an experiential artist collective. They believe in the power of stories to tickle senses and shift perceptions. Their work takes people on a multisensory journey to where imagination and information collide.
From coders to poets, chemists to ventriloquists, brands to institutions, they collaborate with specialists in all disciplines. To explore new forms of culture, interrogate our relationship with the world around us and leave a glittery slug trail as we journey through the cosmos.
They’ve exhibited internationally at institutions including; ACMI, Barbican Centre, YCAM, DDB Seoul, Sundance Film Festival, Factory International, Quartier des Spectacles, Montreal, SXSW, Phi Centre and Lisbon Architectural Triennale.
Their work has been featured in renowned publications such as; the Guardian, New Scientist, Wired, Independent, Creative Review, the Times and more.
