ATLAS

ATLAS, Marie-G Losseau & Yann Deval

ATLAS is an immersive installation at the crossroads of digital and visual arts. Created by Marie-G. Losseau and Yann Deval, it begins with the construction of imaginary city models, meticulously handcrafted by Marie-G. Losseau, either alone or during participatory workshops. These models are then digitised in 3D by Yann Deval, drawing the viewer into an archipelago of poetic cities.

With a seed launcher”, visitors can generate houses that adapt to their surroundings, forming cities adrift in the clouds, floating on water, or seemingly uprooted. Devoid of inhabitants, they become spaces for imagination. Named after forgotten cities, they evolve like living organisms, independent of human intervention. ATLAS invites us to explore and create vast, dreamlike landscapes, prompting reflection on urbanism, architecture, and their impact on how we inhabit the world.

About the artists

Marie-G Losseau & Yann Deval

Marie-G has a background in set design, and she works on various artistic projects with a preference for creating poetic, playful, and offbeat universes. She enjoys zigzagging between the figurative and the abstract, manual artisanal work and fablab tools, or juggling with textiles, wood, or paper.

Yann
is an interactive-designer, motion-designer and music-composer based in Belgium. His interactive installations (ATLAS, CHRONICA, IMMERSIO) explore the ambiguities between real and virtual, between tangible objects and imaginary worlds.
